WITH YOUR HELP WE CAN CONSERVE THE BIODVERSITY THAT FOSTERS A HEALTHY BALANCE IN OUR ENVIRONMENT.

WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT RCCPE?

The Robberg Coast Corridor is a private initiative to connect various tracks of land; reserves, public land and private land and start creating corridors top the greater National parks, therefore extending the conservation of species which balances the climate and overall quality of the water and air.

Robberg Coastal Corridor’s mission is to assist and engage with civil society and all stakeholders to identify and develop the living corridor by applying sound land-use practices, encouraging a diversity of environmentally sustainable livelihoods and linking ecologically important areas, for the benefit of biodiversity and the extended community. This stretch of coastline is highly sensitive to our overall ecological balance, and it is important that we protect it from further development and habitat encroachment. This is a small area with a high density of diverse and rare plant species. It is also home to Baboons, Leopard and other mammals and reptiles.

Eco-corridors serve to create connection between open wild spaces. Areas like the Tistsikamma National Park preserve a rich varieties of species that are protected from encroaching development and habit loss. Originally when parks like thee were set up, they used a conservation – tourism model top create a sustainable self-funding conservation effort.
